Department of General Medicine and Nursing Science join forces!
The disciplines of General Practice and Nursing Science are being combined to work more efficiently and effectively in the current healthcare climate.
As the title suggests, General Medicine and Nursing Science will continue as one department at the Julius Center. In these times when the demand for care is growing, staff shortages are increasing and interprofessional collaboration is becoming more important than ever, this fusion is a step forward. In addition to the fact that we are the only two disciplines within the Julius Center that have individual patient care as a core task, our ambitions regarding future-proofing general medical and nursing care respectively through scientific education, research, and innovation also fit well together. After all, nurses in the community or general practice as POH and general practitioners have been natural partners in patient care for many years. By now working together in the academic field, we believe we can work more effectively on the foundation and necessary innovation of our, often joint, patient care. We are very happy with this development and look forward to a great collaboration.
