The Julius Center can be characterized as a matrix organization with five departments, four research programs and four special research themes and affiliations. 

Data Science and Biostatistics

The Data Science and Biostatistics department uses professional knowledge to improve the quality of research.

Epidemiology and Health Economics

The department's focus is on studying causes of diseases, the effect of their treatment, predicting the course of diseases or complications and evaluating new developments in medicine and healthcare. 

Global Public Health & Bioethics

This department combines our knowledge of different fields with a focus on health.

All our departments are supported by the business operations department. Within this department are the specialisms of ICT, Finance, Policy and Quality.
