During these internships, you will have the opportunity to get to know industrial and/or insurance medicine in the broadest sense of the word.

Description of internship

Industrial medicine includes, for example, attending occupational health consultations and independently holding such consultations under the supervision of a senior company doctor, performing industrial medicine investigations, attending internal meetings (peer review) and, if requested, holding a lecture on a topical subject, company visits and attending meetings on a company's absenteeism and reintegration policy, the SMT (Social Medical Team), introduction to related disciplines such as occupational hygienists, safety experts,

Work & Organization psychologists, industrial welfare, company psychologists and labor experts, which may also include assessing, after a workplace visit, a work environment or position to determine the physical resilience/workload ratio in the work of an individual employee. Insurance medicine includes, for example, attending insurance medicine consultations and independently holding such consultations under the supervision of a senior insurance doctor (Sickness Benefits Act, WIA, WAJONG), interaction with labor experts, attending internal meetings (peer review, lectures) and gaining more in-depth knowledge of social legislation in case of illness and incapacity for work.

Upon request, there may be opportunities to do an occupational health scientific internship with the Dutch Knowledge Center for Work and Pulmonary Diseases (NKAL), which works together with the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS).
